MAHALO to Mama Kuleana and All Good sunscreens for your help last week at the Flower Festival, with educating the public to save our reefs!

Thank you to all our reef-safe sunscreen donors:  All Good, Badger Balm, Bare Republic, Goddess Garden Organics, Mama Kuleana, and Raw Elements.  And thank you, Hawaii Dept. of Land and Natural resources for donating the informational cards and posters about preserving our reefs.

TRADE-IN's - toxic sunscreens from our visitors at the Flower Festival last week - all swap participants received new bottles of reef-friendly zinc-based sunscreen.

All this was on it's way into our Maui water system!  (Even if you don't go swimming it washes off in the shower and enters the wastewater system, to be released into rivers and the ocean.)  It is estimated that 4,000 to 6,000 TONS of sunscreen enter Hawaii's ocean each year!
